Sarah: Leo 6 Months

Leo is six months today! We filled the day with some of his favorite things:

Favorite thing #1: wind blowing in his ears

Favorite thing #2: not sitting in the car
Favorite thing #3: hanging out of the window
Favorite thing #4: waiting for me to catch up
Favorite thing #5: f-e-t-c-h
Favorite thing #6: swimming
Favorite thing #7: wrestling with new friends
Favorite thing #8: shaking it out
Favorite thing #9: more swimming

Favorite thing #10: digging
Favorite thing #11: getting sniffed by a horse. (not really a horse, but I could've ridden him)
Favorite thing #12: holding on to his ball for dear life.

Happy half birthday, Mr. Leo!

***Yes, I know he is a dog. But I love him so much that I think his half birthday deserves some recognition. If that's wrong, then I don't wanna be right.

Sarah: Birthday Love

Yesterday was my 23rd birthday. It was a nice day filled with a little shopping, diet coke, much needed conversations, and a chocolate espresso brownie sunday to die for. I only took two photos the whole day:

I got pulled over. But only received a warning because
it was my birthday. Thanks again, officer Bruce!
Thanks to everyone who wished me well. It was truly a lovely day.

Happy Birthday Meghan!!

Today is mine and Kelsey's friend's birthday!

I first met Meg in college and everyone called her "Meg Han" because of the way she spells "Meghan". We first bonded when we found out that we were both from Ohio! Our love for Ohio goes real deep.

Meghan is spicy and real and one of my very best friends. Happy 23rd birthday, Meg! I hope it rocks your ass off.

Love you.

Sarah: Celebration

Here are some pictures from Frank's birthday:

I love birthdays. I enjoy celebrating the life of someone I love and trying to make their day special. Saturday, I spent the morning making him a secret chocolate cake with coffee icing. It was delicious. Sunday was mostly low-key, because that's the kind of guy Francis is. He's uncomplicated and straightforward. We went out for the Super Bowl with friends and then at the end of the night we found ourselves indulging in tasty Indian food (with a complimentary dessert for the birthday boy). So lovely.

Sarah: Happy Birthday, My Love

Today is Frank's birthday!! I got up this morning and got him Starbucks, made him breakfast in bed, we're currently watching the Manchester United game and later we're going to go out somewhere to watch the Super Bowl!

It's a day full of celebrating one of my favorite people!

Happy 33rd, my love. I hope it's everything you want it to be.

Sarah: Happy Birthday!

This is one of my all-time favorite pictures of my mom. She looks happy and she's actually smiling in this picture! Something that is not easy for her to do. I don't know why! But it's at the level where if I want her to "smile for real, mom!" I need to like tickle her or say something super inappropriate for her to laugh. I don't know what made her smile in this picture...maybe it was that her favorite daughter was giving her some sugar. I kid, I kid. She doesn't have favorites. But if she did....

Anyways. The true reason I posted this photo of my mom is because look at how much she looks like a young Melissa Gilbert! You know, from Little House on the Prairie. Or LHOTP for you hard-core fans.

Mom & Sarah: Prom Night, May 2007
Rob Lowe & Laura Ingalls-oops, I meant Melissa Gilbert.
Circa 1980s. Did you know they were once engaged?

They could be sisters! Seriously! Especially when I remember pictures from when I was little. My mom had this beautiful, white porcelain skin & gorgeous wide-set eyes. I've always thought she could have totally been a model.

Also, Happy Birthday, Mom! You're the best.

Birthday Photos

Sarah did you ever tell us which glasses you chose? You need to post a pic of the winner.

Here are some pics from my birthday

My birthday cake was made by a woman named Santa. As in Santa Clause. This is funny to no one here because there is no Santa Clause. But I crack up every time someone says Santa is coming. SANTA IS COMING!!!!! FYI Ugandan birthday cake is NOT the same as American cake.

For my birthday God made it rain. The best gift of all. I love the rain.

Rain pouring off of our roof

Family hiding from the rain. I love that when it rains no one can go anywhere. Inside the house it is too loud to talk and outside it is too muddy to move around. Love it.

Chickens also hide from the rain. Wimps.
Then it began to hail and we picked up the chunks of ice out of the mud and ate them. It sounds gross but it was delicious.
This is the view from my bed. I love my life.
Double rainbow.  DOUBLE RAINBOW!

You've Come so Far!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELS!!!

Technically, it's only 13th of June in the US. But technically, it's already tomorrow (the 14th) in UG. And technically, we already celebrated Kels' birthday before she left. But I think that the real birth date deserves at least a shout out. If it was guaranteed that it would make it to Uganda on time, I would have gotten Kels this card:

Kels, you DA BOMB!!! And I hope your birthday was one of the best.

Much love,
Sar
